MAN HAS A PROBLEM...

Adam and Eve broke God’s rules and sinned, and since then, every person who has ever lived has sinned and chosen to do wrong things and to disobey God. This means that you and every other person that you have ever met is a sinner. No one lives perfectly all the time. Trying to live one week without ever sinning is like trying to live for one week underwater holding your breath. It is impossible! The Bible says:

  • Romans 3:23 - "…all have sinned…"

  • Romans 3:10  - "…There is none righteous, no, not one:"

  • 1 John 1:8 - "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive [or trick] ourselves..."

SIN HAS A PUNISHMENT...

There is always punishment for doing wrong. Disobeying your parents might mean a punishment like going to your room. Robbing a bank or breaking the law means a punishment like going to jail. The punishment for sin is not getting to go to heaven and having to go to a terrible place of fire called Hell. Heaven is a perfect place, and God cannot allow sin or sinners to come there. Since every person is a sinner, no one can go to Heaven. The Bible says:

  • Romans 6:23 - "For the wages [or payment] of sin is death..."

  • Hebrews 2:3 - "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation..."

  • James 1:15 - "...sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."

GOD HAS A SOLUTION...

God knew that because people chose to sin, they would not be able to come to Heaven. God loves you so much that He gave a wonderful gift. He sent His Son, Jesus, to Earth to die on the cross. When Jesus died, He took each person’s place and paid for each person’s sin. That would be like someone offering to go to jail for you if you had been sentenced to go to jail. Jesus paid the penalty for your sins which means that you do not have to be punished for your sins. The Bible says:

  • Romans 5:8 - "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

  • John 3:17 - "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

  • Titus 3:5  - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..."

  • 1 Corinthians 15:3 - "...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures…"

Have you ever asked God to save you? God is willing and able to save you today, no matter what your past is like. No one is too terrible or too holy...each and everyone of us needs the Lord to save us from our sins.

The Bible says in John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

FINDING LIFE

Discovering God's Wonderful Gift of Eternal Life

YOU HAVE A CHOICE...

Sinners can escape the terrible punishment by accepting God’s gift of salvation. What does it mean to be saved? First, as a sinner, you need to believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and that He rose again. Second, you must repent and tell God that you are sorry for your sins. Third, you must ask God to save you, and you must give God control over your life. God will save you and give you His gift of eternal life. The Bible says:

  • Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

  • Acts 16:30-31 - "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

  • John 3:36 - "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
